Author And Book Marketing Tips

February 7th, 2010 Gloria Jennings No comments

Writers want their work to be read by many; it will mean that they can keep on writing for a living and not as a side-line. Starting out is always hard for any first-time writer. You do not know what to do or how best to market your work. You will probably not be able to afford a high-quality, big city P. R. Firm to do your marketing for you. You may not even have an agent. So how do you get your work known?

Many authors have had the smart idea of writing books about how to promote their books. They are serving their own needs by catering to others just like them. Some books are better than others and some may be just scams. However, you should look at what these authors are doing to get their books bought in the first place. They use new technology which can be free. Use the internet. Create fan sites. Try to link yourself up with as many search engines and online retailers as you can.

You may actually be in a better situation financially if you live in a small town instead of a big city. Someone from a small town getting a book published is big news in that area. Residents will rush out to see what their neighbor was able to create. Local media and papers will focus stories on you, which is always excellent and free advertising. In a big city, no one would care. You must use every single chance you get in order to get your name out there.

You want to give just enough information about the book to make people interested. Do not talk too much about it or give anything away. Be a professional and think about the business of you. Every story or interview is just like a job interview. Do not say anything off-color or make stupid jokes. You do not want to risk alienating a single person. Make sure you are well spoken but do not try to sound ‘too smart’ and risk sounding like an idiot when no one has any clue about what you are talking about. Not everyone knows critical theory or the Laconian or Derrida point of view. Keep it simple and entertaining.

Dress well, too. If you do not dress professionally for public appearances, what makes anyone think that you can write professionally? Play up your contacts, you affiliation with local schools or business or sports teams. Make people proud that you came from their area. Keep in mind that people know your parents or remember you from high school. They want to see what you have done with your life.

Promote yourself as much as you can without becoming irritating. Do television commercials and put up posters. Making deals with local businesses can be a great business move. You just want your book to get out there, even if you are not making much money on it yet. It takes a while for books to pass from hand to hand and for viral advertising to happen.

The Best Strategies To Making A Winning Online Business

November 29th, 2009 Bridges Stewart No comments

Is it rational to think that a new website will automatically get tons of visitors? Thousands of people have been unpleasantly surprised to find out that the answer is no. People often spend a lot of money when they are having a new website created. All too often, they give very little thought to how they are going to get traffic once the site is launched.

By reading through this article, you will get a better understanding of how to get traffic to your website. If you are starving for visitors, this article will enlighten you to the best website traffic methods used online today. Getting visitors to your site is really not hard. You have to focus on one of two methods.

After reading through this article, your job will be to identify with the method that seems most comfortable to you. This means you will have to do more research by looking for websites, courses, books and membership sites that can help you launch your own preferred traffic generation method.

Article marketing is the most popular method of website promotion. This method is mainly free and requires a little bit of your time. There are hundreds of article directories that you can submit original content to. You do not need to submit to all of them, just the directories that related to your market or niche.

One of the biggest benefits to using articles is that they help you get more traffic to your website. When you submit an article, most directories will let you include a resources or biography box where readers can get more information. Article marketing should be a part of your ongoing traffic generation strategy.

Thousand of merchants and website owners use pay per click advertising. By using this method, you get to bid on keyword placements in the major search engines. Your ads will typically be displayed on the top and right side alongside others who are bidding on the same keyword terms.

Pay per click traffic is very costly. It is never recommended for beginners that have not gone through some kind of training or mentorship. You can lose a lot of money very quickly if you do not know what you are doing. However, once mastered, PPC traffic can bring you visitors for years to come.

My favorite method of all time is using SEO or search engine optimization. The use of SEO traffic employs a variety of on page and off page factors to help your website organically rank for related search terms. While this method can be free if you are willing to do the work, it is very expensive to hire an SEO firm. My best advice to learn how to do it for yourself and you will have all the traffic you need.

The Easiest Path Regular Professionals Can Get Online In Associate Opportunities

November 18th, 2009 Bradshaw Fleming No comments

When you are searching online for internet business ideas, you will be presented with many options. The choices range from drop shipping products directly from a merchant to listing your own ebay auctions. These are wonderful choices. By far the best way to enter the internet marketing arena is in the area of affiliate marketing.

So what is affiliate marketing? This type of internet marketing can best be described as a broker. In a typical broker arrangement, you become the middleman between the merchant and the website visitor. Each time a visitor makes a purchase based on your referral, you get a percentage of the profits.

The commissions will always vary from merchant to merchant. Some merchants will give six or seven percent while others are more generous. When you are prospecting for good affiliate programs, the commission percentage will be listed in the affiliate terms of agreement.

As an affiliate, you earnings can be all over the place. It is very common for one program to make boats loads of money while another just trickles. The merchant’s website will affect your commissions as well. If their site has too many products listed on a page, visitors can sometimes get confused and not place an order.

There are tens of thousands of merchants with affiliate programs. There is definitely no shortage. Almost every large corporation in the United States and throughout the world has an affiliate program for their products and services. On the internet, they rely heavily on affiliate marketers to make up a percentage of their revenues.

To get started in affiliate marketing, you will need an idea for the type of market you plan to promote to. Once you know your market or niche, you will have to find a merchant that has products and services that match. They can easily be found online by searching for programs related to you market.

Once you have gone through a reliable course, just take the next step and get your affiliate business going. It will not cost you much to get started. You should have a dedicated website to promote affiliate offers but it is not required. You can sign up for free websites like Word Press and many others and use them instead.

Once you have established a website presence, you can start earning affiliate commissions very quickly. Start by promoting your website using paid search engine methods or look into SEO traffic generation. The more targeted visitors you can get, the more commissions you will make.

Reasons To Use Creativity Coaching

November 17th, 2009 Tom Binns No comments

Even the most creative people need help and advice from time to time, even if it is just to keep up their motivation. This is where the skills and expertise of a creative coach can come in so useful. Many people are unsure as to what these coaches actually do, so here are the advantages of using creativity coaching.

Coaching is very personal and anyone using a coach will only see the one person. This helps to build a good relationship and the coach can help a person in many ways. All of which work to increase a person’s creative potential and their output of work.

Depending on what creative area you are involved in you will be able to get a coach who understands your field. They too will be experts in a particular creative area and therefore be better placed to assist anyone who needs their help.

Having creative focus is also vital for anyone who paints, writes, draws and so. Unfortunately this focus can be easily lost and is for many people. A creativity coach can bring back your focus and work with you to maintain this focus.

Another really worthwhile reason to use a creativity coach is that they can work with you to build on your current skills. By working with you and unleashing your inner potential they will enable you to create a great skill set. This is something that attending classes and so on will not always achieve.

As shown there is a lot in creativity coaching for anyone who chooses to use the services of a creativity coach. It can help a person to develop what they can already do and give them the focus and desire to go forward.

Procrastination, Why It Can Be So Dangerous

November 9th, 2009 Tom Binns No comments

Procrastination, the putting off of something you have to do until the very last moment. There are people who have this down to an art form. They know just how long they will be able to put that deed off and still get it done, or so they hope!

It’s a problem that many people will do; it’s quite easy to do at times. But when you know that it’s due by a certain time, you need to work on it and get it done quickly. That way if needed you have time to make corrections.

Are you a person who does this? I know I am, and well at times it can be something that is done on purpose. But in many cases it’s almost a dread of doing something, so I place it to the back of the pile, again and again.

There are many people in life who do this all the time. Sad to say at times I feel I am the same way. But that’s when the organization of what needs to be done and what really doesn’t need to be done can come in very handy.

Frustration may be a problem, but you need to make sure if you like to put things off, that you stop doing that. Maybe not with everything, but the really important things yes. Place them at the top of the list or middle, not at the back of it.

Why take the chance of upsetting a boss by putting that project off for too long? They may come to you for an update; you can lie and say you have some of it done. But what if they ask to see it and you don’t have anything to show them?

In closing, make that list and use it, focus on finishing so many of the red listed items each day. Don’t forget it’s okay to have fun once in a while though.

Career Changes in a Recession

November 7th, 2009 Owen Jones No comments

One of the methods to cope with slump is considering a job change. Not too many people like the notion of swapping jobs during a slump. However, if you have already felt the consequence of slump – say you’ve been laid off already, why not give a different career path a chance, right? It might not have crossed your mind to prioritize job security when selecting a job. However, whether you are choosing your first job or making a switch, it can be helpful to do so now, especially during our present economic predicament. However, no job is 100% protected, although there are some industries that have workers feeling so secure that even if they get fired, the need for such an employee is so great that finding another job would be very simple.

So how do you select a job that’s right for you during a depression? Here are some depression-proof careers that are worthy of your deliberation:

Education

There is a great shortage of educationalists. No matter how low the economy is, educationalists will always be in-need. Children will continue going to school. Also, plenty of unemployed adults may decide to further their education. Although teaching is not one of the highest-paid jobs there is, making only about $40,000 to $50,000 a year, people will still settle for a career that does not earn more because they are tired of being unemployed for a long time. This is particularly true for those who might desire to try something new anyway or those who hate the roller-coaster ride that a commercial life offers.

Healthcare

Job hunters with an Information Technology background are said to be a good fit for the healthcare industry – especially nursing. This is because nursing is an information-driven job. It is also a useful career during a recession because healthcare is an industry that does not usually become affected during these times.

Accountancy

Auditors are also usually untouched by slumps. In a recession, individuals and firms are more likely doing their utmost to get more reductions. More people are monitoring their books, so the demand for auditors or accountants is much larger.

Energy and Utilities

Energy consumers may cut back, but their consumption will not stop. The same with utilities, people will still light their homes. So, jobs like maintenance and utility administration prove to be more stable than others during a depression.

Pharmaceuticals

As long as physicians prescribe drugs, people are going to take them. This means that if you are working as a pharmacist or as a quality assurance analyst in a pharmaceutical laboratory, you are in good hands.

Military

Since the armed forces is always hiring, especially during wartime, during a depression soldiers will not be that affected. Serving in the military also means that most of your living costs will be covered.

Security

A recession does not end crime. With the increase in redundancies, more people are considering robbing banks and committing other crimes. So, the need for security employees becomes greater.

Environmental Sciences

The convenient truth is that the eco-friendly trend is not going anywhere. This means that picking a job in environment-care-related industries can be a great job alternative.

The Administration

Working for the government can be one of your best choices during this downturn. This is because many stable jobs can be found in the federal government. The administration will not cease to function even during a crisis.

With that variety of job options, it might not be that difficult to get one that will save you from this economic situation.

If you are looking for a change of direction during these difficult times, try Internet Business or The Real Way.com for a few ideas.

Start Internet Business: Keyword Marketing Ideas

October 21st, 2009 Middleton Neal No comments

There are plenty of ways to make money online. The key to succeeding is finding a method, model or strategy that you will enjoy. Not all models are right for everyone. Some are great at selling and promoting products as an eBay affiliate while others seem to do well selling informational products. In either case, the model you choose will help determine your success.

You should never think about starting an online business without first considering the niche market. A niche is just a segment of a much broader market. An example of a niche market could be baby strollers or a specific skincare line of products. They represent the desires of a segment of the market and not the market itself.

So how do you consider which is a good niche market? It all starts with intensive keyword research. Keywords are the founding basis upon which all successful internet businesses are launched. The needs of a market will always reflect the monthly search volume in terms of specific phrases related to the market.

Should you target the wrong set of keyword phrases in your marketing efforts, you will end up disappointed because of low converting traffic or high levels of market competition. Targeting the right keywords means you will focus on phrases that are not too competitive and on phrase that are more likely to lead to a sale.

An example of a market that is too high in competition would be mortgages or credit cards. It would be insane to target a keyword phrase as competitive as this. There is too much competition to get a running start. Instead, focus on subsets of the market by narrowing your selection on specific long-tail keyword phrases.

One of the consequences of targeting the wrong keywords in your marketing efforts can be low traffic or traffic that does not convert. The keywords you use are extremely important. They will determine whether or not you get traffic from the search engines like Google and Yahoo and will affect how well that traffic converts into buying customers.

There are many places to get keyword ideas online. Some are paid services requiring a small fee or a monthly membership while others are free. Google keyword tool provides the best keyword tool for internet marketers and those looking for keyword ideas.

When you launch the Google keyword tool, you will be provided with all sorts of relevant information. This data is priceless as it reveals the top keyword searches for a give market, PPC or pay-per-click bids prices and related search terms to expand your
