Google Caffeine Is Going To Change SEO As We Know It
If you are one of the few who hasn’t heard… Google Caffeine is the name given to Google’s next generation search engine. It is said that it will be used to rank and index all the pages on the Matrix… OOOPPSSS! I meant the world wide web.
Do not get this confused with just another one of Google’s so-called updates… This baby is a complete overhaul of its index and algorithm.
According to Google’s Spokesperson Matt Cutts, the search engine giant already has one database online, but the full blown version will be released right after the Holidays. As most of you know Google has usually made their infamous changes right around the Holidays which caused a lot of ruckus among Internet Marketers.
It would appear that Google has started listening to the webmasters, and has decided to be a little generous. They have started being a little more forthcoming as far as how they index web pages. In fact they even allowed a selected few to beta test an early version of Caffeine, and yes THE SEO BULLY was one of the few.
I voweled to deliver top-notch information to those on my list. As I was beta testing I was constantly reporting feedback back to my students. Now I’m going to release this information to you, but I must forewarn you – I am sharing my educated opinions based on my personal test results. I also compared notes with a few other Veteran Internet Marketers. I am saying this to say – DO NOT go changing your entire business model around based on the information you get from me. Please, please, please, do your own testing. If you have any experience in Internet Marketing you know that Google changes their plans at the blink of an eye.
Now that I have put my little disclaimer out there on the table, let’s move on shall we? Here is a little scoop straight from the mouth of Google if you will. They are throwing a new criteria in the mix. With there new search engine face lift, “Site Speed,” or how fast your site loads will now play a factor. My test results also show that Caffeine will be penalizing websites for broken links.
As you already know the quality of your over all website already plays a factor in the SERPs. After Google’s transformation it will play an even bigger role. It is important that you take a moment and put yourself in Google’s shoes before cursing them for making such drastic changes. Their main goal just like any business is to give their clients the best product and or service that they possibly can. In the past many Internet Marketers seem to have taken Google’s changes personally. I never took it that way, to me it was all apart of doing business. You must understand that Google makes their money by offering high quality search results fast, and they must bee relevant, and highly targeted.
According to my findings I feel confident in saying that OnPage factors will play a greater role in Google Caffeine. Unique content will carry more weight, page design, good navigation, title, meta tags, description, keyword density, alt tags, page views, bounce rate, traffic numbers, time spent on page, and the number of social bookmarks may play an increased role in achieving higher rankings. To most Internet Marketers this information comes as no surprise.
Worse case scenario Google could change their entire format. Even if that would happen I can assure you that one thing will remain… Social Bookmarking will play a huge factor in Caffeine’s new algorithm. Before my email box starts blowing up let me answer the question now… YES… Twitter is considered to be a part of the Social Bookmarking scheme and the number of times your website is ReTweeted will play a factor. So if you do not have a twitter account currently I recommend that you get one.
If you are feeling a little worried please allow me to put your mind at ease. This new decision by Google appears to be the best thing that could ever happen for those with online businesses. Google is simply leveling the playing field, because they understand that anyone with enough money could buy a top search position. This process is called link buying and has become a very profitable business today. All indications show that Google is trying to do away with this problem and attempting to create more of a, “May The Bestter Man Win” type scenario.
While beta testing the Caffeine search engine I couldn’t determine if backlinking was going to play more of a role or not. However it still looks like keyworded domains and on site content along with other optimization factors did out weigh backlinking in the majority of my test results.
Here’s a little secret straight from The SEO Bully’s little bag of tricks that I haven’t seen anyone else reporting on. According to my test results Google is some how indexing the audio of video files. Yup… You heard me correctly… My research has proven that when I use my keyword phrase within the first 15 to 20 seconds of my video that it ranked higher than when I didn’t. That one little tip alone is priceless.
